Riding Camargue horses at the Mas Saint Germain
Not far from Arles and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, enjoy riding Camargue horses in a peaceful surrounding. We offer horseback outings as well as riding lessons and training courses on our home-bred Camargue horses.
Horse riding
The riding activity lasts two hours, including the care and preparation of your horse: first of all we choose the horses in a personalized way for each rider. Then we go and pick up the horses from the meadow, each brushes their horse and saddles it with our help, we put you in the saddle and take you for an hour's ride on our organic farm, showing you from the inside how the family works. from our structure, the crops, the Camargue horse and bull breeding activity, to the very wild Etang de Vaccarès, populated with birds.
We offer trotting and galloping to riders who have the level, but those who prefer to walk can do so on the same ride, which allows them to share an activity together but each at their own pace.
Then on the way back, everyone unsaddles and rewards their horse, then takes it back to the meadow, taking the time for a little goodbye hug!
We advise you to come for the walk in denim pants, closed shoes, and if possible a loose long-sleeved shirt to protect yourself from the sun as well as any insects. We lend you the bombs!
Prices
2 hours of activity, including horse care at the beginning and end:
Small group walk (8 to 10 Max., from 6 years old): €45 per adult,
€42 per child from the 3rd person.Privatized and personalized ride , from 2 people,
€70 per adult, €65 per child.
As we generally prepare horses more quickly for riding
privatized, the time on horseback is a little longer.

Ornithological walk :
Christophe from the Office of Naturalist Guides joins the walk. He will help you observe birds and tell you about their way of life.
Price based on a private ride, plus fixed price of €70 for 2 to 5 people for Christophe (€10 per additional person).

For the little ones :
From 2 to 5 years old, you can ride with your child on our little Shetland pony "ZEPHYR" (€15). We equip him with a shingle and a halter, and show you the walking paths around the Mas. You walk at a walking pace for as long as the child wants! For children aged 2, it is advisable to accompany the child in pairs.
Training courses, collective lessons & private lessons
Training lessons are provided by Magalie, our State qualified instructor.
We will first talk about the elements you wish to work on either in traditional or Camargue horse riding and we will assign the most appropriate horse according to your level and experience to you. Magalie will then make you work the identified points in the schooling yard.
If you wish to relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature, you can then take a tour of the Mas right after the lesson!

L'élevage de chevaux
At Mas Saint Germain, our herd includes more than forty horses, including mounts (for working bulls), mares, foals, stallions, old horses and horses for the horse-riding school.
The Camargue horse is gentle and has a big heart. His tolerance and flexibility allow him to be used for leisure riding and for equestrian tourism for all levels, confirmed as totally beginners, including the youngest (from 6 years). Before enjoying a peaceful retirement, our "pre-retirement" horses are only used for the youngest children. Gifted with a calm and a kindness without equal, you will be able, worry-free, to enrol your young children to the horseback riding. Our state-certified instructor will guide you and can also hold your child's horse during the ride.
